Post Office
Travel Money Card
The Post Office is a well-known British brand that offers a range of services across the UK. In 2004, they launched a joint venture with First Rate, a leading foreign exchange provider, to enhance their travel money services. This partnership allowed the Post Office to become one of the UK’s largest providers of foreign currency, offering competitive rates and services such as travel money cards and currency exchange at thousands of branches nationwide.
First Rate supplies the Post Office with travel money services, including their Travel Money Card (TMC) and foreign currency. As a key partner, First Rate ensures competitive exchange rates and efficient currency distribution across the Post Office’s network, making it one of the UK's largest providers of travel money.
MY ROLE: In-House Graphic Designer for First Rate (business partner)
Social Content & Ads
I created a range of social media assets supporting flash sales, travel reports with tips and info. These assets were distributed via an internal platform, allowing individual post offices to customise and share them on their respective social media pages. Various other assets were also published on the National Post Office channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
Travel Money Card Welcome letter
The previous carrier letter design didn’t offer a clear customer experience—sign-up steps were confusing, and the process wasn’t intuitive. The newly designed letter simplifies the process, providing clearer instructions and more detailed information about the travel money card and its intended use.
Print flyers
I designed a series of print flyers tailored for individual post office branches. The flyers can be ordered on demand by branches to support their specific sales activities. Each design is crafted to be easily customizable, allowing branches to add their own details, and ensuring they meet local needs while maintaining brand consistency. The goal is to empower each branch with bespoke professional marketing materials that enhance their outreach and sales efforts. As an outcome branches using the materials have seen an increase in sales over the past year.
Vinyl window wraps
The research showed that most people are familiar with the Post Office and most of their services but did not know about the Travel Money card or Currency exchange services. To address the issue I created a series of bespoke window wraps to complement campaign materials and increase visibility for Travel services for a series of test branches.
After a six-month period, the branches have seen a clear increase in travel-related queries and sales which vetted the initiative and began planning for a wider deployment.
Alongside window wraps I created a range of secondary assets such as stickers, pin pad displays and a freestanding flag. The intended purpose being to allow creating a travel advertising boost even in branches that do not have enough display space for large window wraps.
